Ripeness
The June Issue
There’s something about this time of year that makes me want to live differently.
I want meals that last for hours. Bare feet. Linen. Fruit that’s perfectly in season. Slow afternoon sex. Windows open. Good books. Beautiful rooms. Golden hour that lingers. I want to feel like I’m actually inside my own life instead of rushing past it.
So that’s what this issue is.
We’re still writing about desire. We’re still asking the questions that matter and refusing to apologize for wanting what we want.
That isn’t changing.
What’s changing is where we’re willing to look for it.
I’ve started noticing that eroticism doesn’t stay neatly contained in the bedroom. It follows us into the kitchen, into bookstores, into the perfume we reach for before dinner, into the way we set a table, choose a dress, or book a trip.
You’ll still find essays that arouse you. The kind that stay with you long after you’ve finished reading them.
But you’ll also find the things that feed that same hunger in quieter ways.
Because the woman who knows what she wants in bed is usually the same woman who knows what she wants from her life.
Love, Holly
Soft Bodies, Hungry Men
You’re naked in front of him, and your first instinct is to hide. Your hands move to cover your belly. You want to dim the lights and angle away. Your softness feels like something you need to apologize for or manage.
Why Would She Want Sex?
I get several messages from men who frequently tell me how they always make their partner’s pleasure the priority. I believe most of them mean it. What I’m less certain about is whether he actually knows what she likes. Not what his past girlfriend liked, not what’s in porn, or what worked a decade ago when she was different. Her. The specific woman in his bed right now.
The women I admire most all have one thing in common. They don’t rush through beautiful moments.
I think we’ve confused indulgence with nourishment. They’re not the same thing.
I’m becoming less interested in luxury and more interested in things that get better with use.
A linen shirt.
A wooden cutting board.
A favorite cookbook with stains on the pages.
A long-term partnership
Why do we save the beautiful candles for someday?
I don’t think women are hungry for more stuff. I think we’re hungry to feel more alive inside the lives we already have.
I’ve never once regretted buying fresh flowers.
I’m beginning to think that good sex and a beautiful home aren’t separate desires. Both begin with paying attention.
This month reminded me that wanting more isn’t always greed. Sometimes it’s your life asking to be lived more fully.
Cozy Earth sheets: I’m convinced that good sheets change the mood of a bedroom. In a skin-remembers-this kind of way.
Delta of Venus: A book for when you want language that still knows how to blush. Anaïs Nin writes eroticism with atmosphere, tension, and attention. It felt right on the nightstand this month.
Salt & Stone Body Lotion: I love a scent that makes a room feel darker in the best way. Rose, oud, skin, candlelight. This is less “fresh and clean” and more “stay a little longer.
Salt & Stone Candle: For when you want the room to feel intimate before anything has even happened. Rose and oud always feel like an invitation to me.
Onna Nude Curve: Pleasure has become less about chasing something and more about paying attention. I love tools that invite curiosity, presence, and a slower conversation with my own body.
Naydaya Victory Oil: We spend so much time caring for our faces and forget the rest of our bodies deserve that same devotion. This is one of those quiet luxuries that makes me feel more at home in my own skin.

Strawberry Moon
The kind of moon that made me want to stay outside too late and let the night have its way with me.

Hydrangeas
I usually reach for peonies, but these colors stopped me. They felt moodier than what I normally choose, which I liked.

Outdoor Dinner Parties
I’ve been craving this exact kind of evening. A table outside. Candles lit at dusk. Rustic French food. Beautiful flowers. Good bread. Wine. Conversation. Nothing overly perfect, just the kind of dinner that makes everyone forget to check the time.

English Antique Quilts
Lately, I've found myself drawn to things that have already lived a life. Hand-stitched quilts. Worn linen. Wooden tables with scratches. They remind me that beauty doesn't have to be new to feel luxurious.
Hill House x Williams Sonoma Climbing Vine Collection
I walked into Williams Sonoma, and these were the first plates I saw. Pink is my favorite color, so obviously I stopped. They feel romantic without being fussy, and now I’m convinced I need more dinners that deserve pretty plates.
Designing this first issue
I didn’t expect this to become such a thing, but it did. Somewhere between the curation, the apricots, and the endless font decisions, this started feeling like the beginning of something.
The course I’m taking
I’ve been slowly working through my embodied intimacy and relationship coaching certification, and it’s already changing how I think about desire, attention, and the conversations women are craving.
Summer rhythm
I’m trying to make this season less frantic. Fewer rushed mornings. More time outside. More meals that don’t feel like an afterthought.
What I’m craving next
More beauty. More ease. More work that feels like it belongs to me.
If June was about ripeness, I think July is about heat.
Water. Bare skin. Ice cream. Hot summer nights. The kind of aching desire that gets a little bolder when the days stretch on, and the sun doesn’t set until after nine.
We’ll keep talking about the art of erotic living. About the quiet things that wake us up. About lived-in homes, lingering meals, deeply satisfying sex, and the kinds of lives that make us want to stay inside them.
See you in July. More erotic essays. More beautiful living. More reasons to fall in love with your own life.
